MYOB announces Australian winners of 2020 MYOB Partner Awards

Your Bookkeeping Angels, Palfreyman Chartered Accountants and Somerville resident Debbie Demooy of Rad Bookkeeping & Business Solutions were announced by MYOB as the Australian winners at its industry-leading Partner Awards for 2020.

Pivoting to an online format for what is now the 12^th year of the awards, the honours continue to celebrate excellence within the bookkeeping and accounting community across three categories: Accounting Practice of the year, Bookkeeping Practice of the year and Certified Consultant of the year.

Nominations for this year’s MYOB Partner Awards were rigorously reviewed by a judging panel including MYOB’s Chief Sales and Support Officer, Daniel West, who says it was the passion of the award candidates that shone through, with many of those nominated stretching their services to support their clients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The recipients of the 2020 MYOB Partner Awards set a scene of business advisors who unequivocally care for their clients and the development of their team, to best serve businesses in what has been a challenging year. Their expertise and shared knowledge will continue to guide business health as we navigate our way through economic recovery. We’re proud to celebrate their outstanding contribution,” says Mr West.

Accounting Practice of the Year was awarded to Palfreyman Chartered Accountants to recognise the exceptional support the practice has offered to their clients during challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, using wide-ranging tactics to not only protect business survival, but also drive growth.

Over the last four years Palfreyman Chartered Accountants has transformed from home-based business to city centre specialist, doubling turnover and employees through a team culture focused on a growth mindset. This meant the practice was well-prepared for the challenges of COVID-19, which they met head on to provide valuable support and resources to the Cessnock community.

Your Bookkeeping Angels were named Bookkeeping Practice of The Year. Managing Director of Your Bookkeeping Angels, Kerry Underwood, calmly guided her clients through the challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic. Pivoting to support her rapidly growing client base through Zoom and Facetime, she worked to keep her team’s spirits high through virtual catch ups and focused on problem-solving as a priority.

The Certified Consultant of the Year award recognises a business advisor whose expertise effectively drove revenue growth and significantly contributed their firm’s success in 2020.       

Owner and director of Rad Bookkeeping & Business Solutions, Debbie Demooy, calmly led her team through the challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic to ensure they were best placed to serve the ever-changing needs of their clients.

Debbie’s paperless practice meant they could nimbly respond to the changing environment, provide clients with regular updates on the changing terrain of Government stimulus, opening their doors to clients 7am to 7pm, seven days a week during COVID.
