MYOB launches Rewards program

21 Aug 2019

MYOB has launched a first of its kind loyalty program, MYOB Rewards, which will allow small businesses to bank points that can be exchanged for rewards, such as travel or gift cards, by conducting their daily transactions through the MYOB payments platform.

The Rewards program, which will launch in October, will initially see small businesses rack up points by paying for goods and services or paying staff with a credit card via MYOB PayBy. The addition of credit card payment options is designed to provide extra flexibility and choice to MYOB customers.

On launch, small businesses will have the opportunity to start accumulating points, with a fully-fledged Rewards platform available from early 2020. Incentives small businesses will be eligible to convert their points into will include travel, such as flights and accommodation, payment towards business expenses or digital gift cards, which could be used as staff or customer rewards.

MYOB General Manager of Product, David Weickhardt said the Rewards program represented a pivotal way in which MYOB strives to help businesses succeed.

“We work continuously to innovate our platform in ways that makes doing business effortless for our clients. This includes the creation of those joyful moments that allow a small business owner to sit back and really enjoy all that they’ve achieved. What could be better than allowing that owner to turn daily transactions they already do into additional rewards?” he said.

“We are excited about the joyful moments MYOB Rewards will give small businesses day to day.”

Small businesses will be able to keep an eye on their MYOB Rewards balance via a bespoke points engine, which will be housed on a separate site, accessible with a MYOB login. Like any other business, accountants and bookkeepers will also be eligible to accumulate points via day to day transactions with their suppliers and through paying their staff.

In addition to the introduction of MYOB Rewards and the opportunity for MYOB customers to utilise a credit card for supplier and payroll payments, MYOB also unveiled that it is set to introduce low cost debit card options for supplier and payroll payment. While debit card transactions will not accumulate MYOB Reward points, the introduction will increase flexible payment options for clients.
