MYOB means Business for digital adoption in SMEs

14 Oct 2021

MYOB is doubling down on its efforts to take more small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to the cloud, and has unveiled its completely reimagined platform, MYOB Business, allowing SMEs to take charge of their own software through a new module approach to business management.

MYOB has embarked on a significant transformation in recent years, investing heavily in a new cloud-based platform, offering business management tools for Australian and New Zealand businesses.

Greg Ellis, CEO of MYOB, said the redesign of the MYOB platform recognised the unique needs of SMEs and sought to deliver a digital solution that supports their business ambitions.

“Identifying the challenges SMEs face and the importance of having reliable business management solutions, we’ve spent the last few years re-shaping our SME product,” Mr Ellis said.

MYOB Business is a consolidation of the Essentials and AccountRight product lines on a single SaaS platform, allowing customers to seamlessly move between subscription plans as their business evolves, and configure their product in a way that's right for them.

Five subscription plans are now available including Lite, with core business features for smaller businesses with room to grow, and Pro, for rapidly growing businesses. AccountRight Plus and AccountRight Premier are a part of the MYOB Business product suite and contain all their existing functionality for more complex businesses, with a continued investment in the browser experience. There will also be a payroll only product for up to four employees.

“We are excited to offer a customer experience that removes the time and cost inefficiencies that come from moving across a range of products. MYOB Business is underpinned by MYOB's new platform, delivering an improved customer experience and bringing additional benefits of the cloud, including ongoing software enhancements,” Mr Ellis said.

MYOB modelling shows one in five SMEs have no or low levels of digitisation1 and SMEs with advanced levels of digitisation are 50% more likely to grow revenue.2 Mr Ellis says helping SMEs to get digitised has never been more important.

“MYOB Business, and its flexible new pricing plans, is designed to make it easy and affordable for businesses of all sizes and stages of maturity. The SaaS model allows for greater security than on-site solutions as well as continuous feature updates.

“MYOB Business integrates easily with our online invoice payments and invoice finance solutions to help customers with cashflow, which will be vital with so many coming out of lockdown. We plan to release more additions to the product early next year.”

Mr Ellis says helping those lagging in digital adoption get online will be advantageous for businesses and the economy, particularly after a turbulent trading time for many.

“We want to make accessing the right solution simple and easy for business owners, accountants and bookkeepers alike so they can spend more time on higher value tasks required to grow their business.”

MYOB Business is now available in place of the MYOB Essentials and MYOB AccountRight product lines for new customers in Australia, covering a range of all-in-one accounting and business solutions.
